Watchdog says operators must join Antifraud system during 120 days

MOSCOW, Nov 27 (PRIME) -- Russian connection operators must join the system of monitoring and prevention of fraudulent activities, called Antifraud, during 120 days, the communications service said on Monday in a statement.

“The operators that fail to join Antifraud will not be able to verify calls duly and their networks can be used for spoofing,” the authority said.

“Joining the system is a rather complicated technological process that requires adjustment of processes and equipment, including on the part of the connection operator. This is why the operator is given a certain period to do it – 120 days, or 4 months,” the regulator added.

The watchdog said that scammers have started calling more often via foreign messengers.
